Make Your Own Moisturizer/Makeup Remover
Today I wanted to give you guys a recipe for one of my BIGGEST lifesavers. As I'm sure is obvious to most of y'all I have pretty bad adhd. With that comes a lot of struggles with tasks most people do every day, like skincare. One day, after years of trying to find an actual skin care routine that I would maintain I finally said screw it what if I combine most of the steps I already bought things for. Originally I was making one to use both on my hair and my body, however I didn't do the research for hair as much as I did for skin and therefore that's another recipe for another time. Here is the recipe for a good full body and face moisturizer that can both last a long time when stored properly and is multipurpose. Not only does this hydrate my skin extremely well but it also removes makeup, kills bacteria, and is easy to use.
What you'll need:
Coconut oil:
For every ounce of coconut oil you will need a teaspoon of honey and a drop of both oils (you can add herbs and a smidge of olive or avocado oil if you want)
In a small pot mix the coconut oil and honey and simmer for around 30 minutes to an hour stirring as you remember you can also add fresh herbs (I like peppermint and rosemary) and another cooking oil at this point.
Once the oil is more cream colored than white (it will be slightly green too if you add fresh herbs) turn off the burner and while still warm and liquid add the drop(s) of vitamin oil. Stirr attentively for at least a minute then pour into a glass jar of your choosing.
Unsealed and unrefrigerated this usually lasts me about a few (2-3) months before the smell changes (this has only occurred with use of fresh herbs may not be a problem without) you can discard of it then if refrigerated it will last longer.
